midnight madness

at 10ish pm yest, while enjoying my chocolate porkfloss thick toast and ice lemon tea with josy at vivocity, i received an sms urging me to go back to st nicks for this fiesta run. the fiesta run was organized to raise funds for the construction of the new school building as well as to attempt to break some guinness world record for the longest distance run on a track or something like that. apparently, there was a lack of runners and the run was in danger of failing. so i decided to do my part as a st nicks girl and rush home for it. yes i bet you're thinking "whoa so patriotic.." because that's exactly what josy said to me when i told her about it. well since i donated $50 earlier on in the month for it, i might as well take part in it and collect my free goodie pack right? :)

while on the train, i received a few more similar smses and a call from michelle. we then arrange to go down together since she lived relatively nearby. (i suppose Kovan is nearer to Punggol then anywhere else. ok maybe except Seng Kang. erps. i digress. :D) i then called home to ask for the car and my dad thought i was mad. i told him i'll explain to him when i was home and so we put down the phone. 1 min later my mum called to ask me why the hell do i need the car at this time of the night. so much for saying that i'll explain to them when i'm home.. both parents living in the same house but no communication there.. -.-" and in the confusion of all the msges and calls, i lost my hp leather cover because i apparently left it on my lap and upon reaching my stop, i just stood up and walked off. -.-"

anyhow, upon reaching home and explaining to my parents the situation and doing my best to convince them i wasn't mad, i drove off to Punggol. oh did i mention i have NO track shoes? yes i am ashamed to say that as an ex-tracker, i do not currently own any pair of track shoes. so i had to trouble michelle to lend me her spare pair because my mum and sister's pairs were too big.

after getting michelle, i was trying to figure which was the fastest way from punggol to ang mo kio. i decided on the TPE/SLE route. afterall, expressways should be much faster, right? so off we went, confident of reaching st nicks before 1130. as i travelled on and on, i was wondering how come it took so long for the ang mo kio exit signs to appear. oh! i spotted upp thomson rd exit! yep! after upp thomson should be ang mo kio. so we continued, chit chatting merrily in the car. as i was looking at the signs, i suddenly saw "WOODLANDS AVE 12" and "JOHOR BAHRU"!!!!!!! it was only then i realised i was travelling in the wrong direction! ARGH.. i am usually not so lousy.. REALLY..

when we finally reached st nicks, i saw ALOT of people on the track.. so much for the event in the danger of failing. after talking to the teachers, turned out that the msg was sent out at 8ish when they desperately needed people and i only received the msg later on. ah wells.. since i was there, might as well go for a little jog right?

well ladies and gentleman, i would like to announce that i ended up jogging TEN WHOLE ROUNDS! *beams*

i can't remember when was the last time i ran on a track, much less 10 rounds! :D i feel redeemed after pigging out on two bowls of cup noodles before and after dinner the day before! :)

anyway it was a good run la! was half jogging and half chit chatting with michelle. wouldn't mind doing it again! but in a less eventful manner.. hehs..

the track at 11ishpm!

besides not having shoes, i realised i didn't have any running t shirts! hence i had to dig out my old st nicks pe t shirt! :)

me and michelle! i have no idea why the photos came out so blur but that's not a bad thing cos we were looking damn shitty in our running gear and sans make-up. LOL!

anyway to end the night, i decided that i felt bad wasting so much of my dad's petrol since i travelled over 40km that night (thanks to the wrong turn.). so after pumping in 10 bucks worth of petrol, i looked to the needle to see how much it would move up.

i looked.

and looked.

and looked.

the needle barely moved.

...

so i decided to pump in another 10 bucks worth. the needle should move this time right?

damn right i was. the needle did not move at first and i got fed up and decided to drive off. the moment i hit the gas pedal, the needle JUMPED up so many notches that it was much more than what it originally was when my dad gave me the car.

...

i swear it just wasn't my night yesterday.

but overall, it was a fun night lah. good meeting up with my old friends and having a nice long jog with one of my dearest pals. :)

we should do it again! (minus all the expenses of course!)

:)

now..

it's back to IT law.. :(
