*this post is written by a Guest Writer a.k.a e INVISIBLE HAND by invitation of the owner of this blog. she's hungry and tired BUT she has the obligation to write this cos the memories were one of their finest and thus ought to be shared*
So, Ruoying&tuta jointly presents...'BRUNEI PART 2'
So so... following Tuta's post on Brunei Part 1 which touched on a few of the hilarious moments of the trip, this post will be on the other funny snippets that happened over there. But keep in mind that these incidents occured 3 yrs ago and had to be dug up along with all the other Forgotten Memories, so the thoughts might not seem very coherent. Bare with me for abit, for I promise you* fun and laughter, peace and joy.
* i PROMISE the folks who went on the trip will recount all these craziness, the folks who didn't... oh well, just read lah!
Have you ever had the experience of travelling with friends when you were barely 15,16 or 17? What about travelling NOT for a holiday, but for a purpose other than a vacation? No la, not for religious purposes, but for like, competitions? Competitions such as the ASEAN SCHOOLs TRACK N FIELD MEET? (sorry hor. we don't take part in the annual physics tournament hor. thats totally not our thang). Well, we have. We meaning Tuta, Ruoying, Sheena, Karen, Sokhong, MM, Wenliang, Alvin, etc etc etc...
The prospect of going somewhere without parents for the first time was totally cool, but was very intimidating as well... cos you need to have friends with you right? THank goodness, this bunch of us gelled together almost effortlessly (well there were minor arguments and buay-songness once in awhile, but its all good now). Thank god for these group of people, we did not feel left out, for the last thing you want is to be 16 n lonely in a foreign country.
I could still remember Sokhong and I had just each other to our room. We had previously shared rooms already, so this was certainly no bigge. THere was a Queen and a Single bed in our room.. and Sokhong, being the Ms Chao-kuan that she was (and still is), wanted to hog the Queen bed for herself for the whole 7 days. Usually, I would let her because I always let her do wadeva she wants, BUT that time, I didn't want to cos ITS NOT FAIR WAD! So we had to haggle/pull hair/scratch eyeballs out to fight for the queen bed.. until skirt split lor! DAMN in the end, cos we were making so much noise, the chambermaid came and removed the Single... and then we had to share the bed. *damn*
Tuta and her friends lived across the hall from us. (she got it wrong. we didn't live DOWN the hall. it was just like literally 3 steps away). I hung out there alot. WHy? ohh cos Karen happened to be my PRMARY SCHOOL FRIEND! hahaha we had lost touch though, so we both thought it'd be a great chance to catch up again. And thru Karen, I got to know Tuta and Sheena too. We spent all our free time and night time there playing cards. Tuta maintains that we played a game called 'MOSQUITO' (don't forget we were young and restless then). I have absolutely no recollection of that. BUTTTTT OHH I JUST REMEMBERRED! WE PLAYED ASS-HOLE DAI-DEE!!! remember? the top 3 were the King, Queen and Jack... bottom 3 was the donkey, prostitute and the asshole.. or something like that. wahhaha FUN TIMES, GLORIOUS TIMES.
the HC trio of Wenliang, Alvin and MM stayed nx to them, so they were there pretty much all the time as well. Wenliang & Alvin, we had no problems with cos they were mature and gentlemenly... BUT MM!!! AHHHhhhh thats where all the problem starts. MM, if you're reading this, could you remind me how our animosity towards each other started? I can't remember anything except i drew a picture of a turtle and pasted it on ur mirror... and that when we have our suan-ning matches, you always lose to me...and that we refused to congratulate you when you got the Gold, choosing to shower Wenxu with attention instead.. 'WAH WENXU U GOT 4TH AH?! WAH U VERY GOOD... oh MM..how did u do? FIRST hah? oh ok lor...' HAHAHHA WE WERE JUST KIDDING ALRIGHT? we orchestrated the whole thing. we knew you got the gold already la! Oh, btw, I have to apolosise to Wenliang cos I called him by the wrong name for the entire week. i called him MINGLIANG aka very, very bright. hahaa. they had to remind me 'its WEN-liang, MING-mao..not MINGLIANG'...okok now I remember. haha
There was one night when we all went to the HC room and Ana picked up a pair of MUSTARD YELLOW undies. WAHHAHA. yes, they belonged to MM. From the color of the undies he wore, we concluded that MM is VERY loyal to his school...I mean, who else would only have MUSTARD YELLOW & MAROON undies?! hahaha. cracked the hell outta us man i tell you.
Brunei ah, I tell you, is honestly very boring... dudeeeee there is NOTHING to do except shopping...wait. there is NOTHING to do INCLUDING shopping, cos there's only 1 mall and they either sell cloth for beautiful baju kurung, or overpriced bodyshop products. BAH. no fun, no fun. But one of Brunei's treasure was their FREE* amusement park! But I'm abit tired for now to continue... Think its long enough liao la. hur hur. be back soon. *peace*
